Finishing early, not having to stay until after 6.00 every night.
I can actually start going to the gym again.
Best of all I get to see the wife and kids.

Finally some of the doom and gloom seems to be lifting and our enquiry and order rate is approaching normal for this time of year. We hope that some confidence is finally coming back, after all you need to promote yourselves more and more these days. Word of mouth used to increase turnover but nowadays we are more dependent on the internet for sales.
It is difficult to spend money when turnover has dropped and enquiries are lower than normal, but you have to fight back and the brave will reap rewards.
So, buy those shirts promoting your company name you know it makes sense!

The industry is traditionally at it’s quietest this time of the year.
Especially on the larger orders, we are all willing to negotiate on price. During summer we are inundated with work, but this time of the year is slow most years add in the equation of an economic downturn and I hate to admit it - it’s a buyer’s market.
So, if you are thinking of buying t shirts for the spring or summer buy them now!
If I had taken the advise of all the news programmes I would have been at home with my feet up drinking lots of cups of tea, however I decided to ignore the ’severe weather warnings’ and come to work, so I’m sat here with my feet up drinking tea, waiting for orders!
Thanks to our local council (Leeds City Council) the roads had been gritted well and all the main routes were clear, add to that the fact that the news put off many peoples’ journeys and monday morning rush hour was no more!
Yes, the press and media are at it again - we’re doomed: a recession, a little bit of snow!!!

Will small businesses such as ours survive the current economic climate!
I wish I knew the answer, it is however out of our hands.
We can offer deals, tighten our belts (a bit difficult after christmas), downsize - at the end of the day we just need to be lucky. I’m sure lots of businesses will fail on the back of bigger companies closing down, who would have thought businesses like HBOS, Woolworths, Adam, Zavvi would be closing down (or selling out).
All we can do is hope that people stop reading the tabloids and start climbing the ladder again, our economy can improve if we the workers unite, buy locally, work hard, be positive. I know it’s a bit hard with this government in place, but we have to try.
I think a starting point has to be looking after number one, we have to buy from our own country and cut down on imports. Yes it may be cheaper to buy something in from China or some other country, but at what cost! You may save a few pence per item, but you are indirectly responsible for crippling our economy. We also need to use our own people, it’s a disgrace to be ringing a British company and talking to people in India!!! We should ALL stop using these companies, until they bring the employment back home.
We all need to work together.
